Several road construction and maintenance projects are scheduled across Camden County from Tuesday, September 2 to Friday, September 5. The Camden County Department of Public Works will oversee these efforts in multiple municipalities, with work hours and closures varying by location.

Commissioner Al Dyer, liaison to the Department of Public Works, advised drivers to be prepared for delays and detours. “Motorists should plan ahead to take alternate routes and give themselves plenty of time to get to their destinations,” Dyer said. “Also, remember that when you’re traveling through a construction area, please slow down and stay alert for crew members and debris.”

In Audubon, Kings Highway will see lane closures and shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day. Berlin Borough’s North Park Drive will be fully closed between White Horse Pike and Berlin-Cross Keys Road from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Camden will have several projects including lane shifts on Market Street between North 4th Street & North 5th Street, Broadway between Royden Street & Berkley Street, and Collings Avenue between West Ironside Road & Mt. Ephraim Avenue. PSE&G is scheduled for a full closure on Mt. Ephraim Avenue between Carl Miller Boulevard & Ferry Avenue from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., while New Jersey American Water will conduct work on Federal Street with lane shifts and shoulder closures at various points.

Additional projects include partial or full road closures in Collingswood (Park Avenue), Gloucester City (Market Street), Haddon Heights (Kings Highway), Haddonfield (Kings Highway East and West), Lindenwold (East Linden Avenue), Merchantville (East Park Drive), Mt. Ephraim (Market Street), Voorhees (West Somerdale Road at Burnt Mill Road), and Winslow Township (Mays Landing Road).

The Camden County Department of Public Works manages over 1,200 miles of county roads as well as bridges and dams in the region. The department handles tasks such as highway construction projects, pothole repairs, street sweeping, grass cutting, storm drainage upkeep, and more throughout the year.
