The New York Red Bulls and D.C. United finished with a 4-4 draw at Sports Illustrated Stadium on April 26, each earning a point after an eventful match.

The game featured multiple lead changes and notable individual performances from both teams. Jorge Ruvalcaba scored twice for the Red Bulls, while Julian Hall continued his scoring streak. Ronald Donkor also registered his first Major League Soccer goal.

New York took an early lead in the 15th minute when Adri Mehmeti set up Donkor, who found Hall for the opening goal. Hall’s sixth goal of the season ties him for second-most in the Eastern Conference and third-most in Major League Soccer this year. The Red Bulls extended their advantage when Ruvalcaba assisted Matthew Dos Santos, whose cross led to Donkor’s first MLS goal.

D.C. United responded before halftime with Tai Baribo converting a pass from Jackson Hopkins. After halftime, Emil Forsberg set up Ruvalcaba for New York’s third goal before D.C.’s Joao Peglow and Hopkins combined to reduce the deficit again. Baribo then equalized following another assist from Peglow.

Ruvalcaba put New York ahead once more with his second of the night after receiving a pass from Donkor, but Baribo completed his hat trick to level the score at four goals apiece following crosses by Caden Clark and Silvan Hefti.

Mehmeti recorded his third assist of the season during this match, while Forsberg tallied his eighteenth career MLS assist and leads current roster members in assists against D.C. Goalkeeper Ethan Horvath earned his first career MLS assist as well.

Rafael Mosquera made his first career MLS start for New York, while Joyeux Masanka Bungi debuted by coming on as a substitute at halftime.

Looking ahead, the Red Bulls will travel to TQL Stadium to face FC Cincinnati on Saturday, April 25 with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
