Randolph Township Police Chief Keith Donovan announced on April 17 that Randolph will participate in the annual National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, scheduled for Saturday, April 25, 2026. The event is part of a nationwide effort coordinated by the United States Department of Justice and the Drug Enforcement Administration.

The initiative aims to provide residents with a safe and anonymous way to dispose of unused, unwanted, or expired prescription medications. Officials say this program helps prevent misuse and abuse of pharmaceutical drugs by ensuring they are collected and destroyed safely.

Local law enforcement agencies partnering in this event include the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, Morris County Sheriff’s Office, Hanover Township Police Department, Morris Plains Borough Police Department, Morris Township Police Department, and Randolph Township Police Department. After collection at designated sites, officials will properly destroy all discarded medications.

Satellite collection sites will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at several locations across Morris County: Uncle Giuseppe’s at 1711 Route 10 East in Morris Plains; ACME Supermarket at 690 Millbrook Ave. in Randolph; and Shoprite of Greater Morristown at 178 East Hanover Ave. in Cedar Knolls. Residents who cannot attend these events may use permanent drop box locations nearby.

Questions about the program can be directed to mknab@co.morris.nj.us.
