On Monday, the Board of Commissioners revealed the refurbished Haddon Creek and Newton Lake playgrounds in Newton Lake Park. The $1.3 million project involved new playground equipment, ADA accessible poured-in-place rubber surfacing, picnic tables, benches, and ADA accessible paths.

“These are two of the most well-loved playgrounds throughout our entire parks system, so we needed to ensure they were in the best shape possible for years to come,” said Commissioner Jeffrey Nash, liaison to the Parks Department. “This project has been highly anticipated, and we cannot wait to welcome the children and families back to the playgrounds.”

Newton Lake Park spans over 103 acres across Collingswood, Oaklyn, and Haddon Township, bordered by Cuthbert Boulevard and the White Horse Pike. The park includes two playgrounds, three picnic areas, 2.43 miles of bike paths, three fishing piers, Matrimony Garden, and a boat ramp.
