Legislation sponsored by Senator Declan O’Scanlon has been signed into law, creating a new Historic Distillery License in New Jersey. This license allows holders to distill and sell alcoholic beverages at premises listed in the New Jersey Register of Historic Places.
“New Jersey’s rich history is something to be celebrated,” said Sen. O’Scanlon. “Now that it’s signed into law, this new license will give historic sites the flexibility to grow alongside our craft distillery industry while both honoring our past and creating new experiences and revenue streams that support local economies.”
The new law permits license holders to sell distilled alcoholic beverages both on and off premises, with a limit of 5 liters per person. Additionally, they can offer up to three samples per day per customer on site. The fee for obtaining this license is set at $1,000.
