The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) New Jersey PAC has announced its endorsement of Jack Ciattarelli for governor in the upcoming election. The endorsement follows a vote by NFIB’s small business members, who cited Ciattarelli’s record and platform as reasons for their support.

Eileen Kean, NFIB New Jersey State Director, stated, “I am excited to once again extend NFIB’s endorsement to Jack Ciattarelli, a strong, pro-small-business candidate, who understands what it takes to start and grow a business, hire workers, and sign both sides of a paycheck. As a state legislator in Trenton, Jack always had the back of Main Street and New Jersey’s small business owners and their employees. As NFIB’s endorsed candidate for governor in 2021, he stood squarely with small business owners as the COVID pandemic still damaged Main Street businesses and the Murphy administration’s policies treated small firms unfairly. Four years later, with record state spending, taxes, and regulations crushing free enterprise and communities, it is vital for New Jersey’s economy, job growth, and Main Streets to elect Jack Ciattarelli, a small business champion, as governor.”

Alongside this announcement, NFIB NJ released its list of endorsements for candidates running for the New Jersey Assembly in the November 4th election. Kean added: “This election is too important for the business community to stay on the sidelines and accept the ruinous status quo and Main-Street-crushing policies coming out of Trenton. New Jersey small businesses are bearing enormous regulatory, tax, and job creation challenges from Trenton instead of the pro-growth policies they need. NFIB will aggressively support Jack Ciattarelli and these legislative candidates who best represent our members and will fight for the support and growth of New Jersey small businesses.”

Kean also highlighted the need for leadership that addresses economic concerns: “More than ever, New Jersey small businesses need a strong governor and legislative champions in Trenton who will address the state’s stifling tax and regulatory burdens and enact policies that will invigorate Main Street,” she said. “With NFIB’s 2024-2025 legislative voting record and election endorsements, small business owners, their employees, and all Garden State voters can see which candidates will be a reliable voice for New Jersey’s small businesses and which have turned their back on local job creators. NFIB is making certain this year that voters know who ‘walks the walk’ for small business owners.”

NFIB evaluates lawmakers based on how they vote on issues important to its members each session; scores are published so voters can see how representatives align with small business interests.

The organization has also launched an online Voting Hub to help its members identify pro-small-business candidates at both state and federal levels.

NFIB emphasized that its endorsement carries weight due to high voter turnout among small business owners in elections.

Founded in 1943 as a nonprofit advocacy group focused solely on independent businesses across all states including Washington D.C., NFIB continues efforts to influence policy decisions affecting its members.
