Myron Williams, also known as “Money” and “Tunchi,” has been sentenced to life imprisonment for multiple charges including racketeering conspiracy and murder in aid of racketeering. The sentencing took place before Judge Michael E. Farbiarz in Newark, New Jersey. Williams, 31, from Newark, received additional sentences of 240 months for possession with intent to distribute controlled substances and 120 months for discharging a firearm during a crime of violence. All sentences will run consecutively.

Khalil Kelley, another member of the Marion Gardens street gang, was previously sentenced on June 5, 2025. Kelley, also known as “Billski,” was given life imprisonment plus an additional ten-year term for his involvement in the gang’s activities and a related murder.

Jawaad Davis from Jersey City was sentenced to 170 months’ imprisonment for his role in orchestrating a robbery that led to murder within the gang’s operations.

Eight other individuals associated with the Marion Gardens street gang are awaiting sentencing. Among them is Roger Pickett, who was convicted alongside Williams and Kelley. The remaining defendants have pleaded guilty before trial and are scheduled to be sentenced by Judge Farbiarz on various dates between June and October 2025.

The Marion Gardens street gang has been involved in numerous violent acts since 2013, including three murders committed on March 29, 2021; November 20, 2021; and November 1, 2022. These crimes were executed through luring tactics using social media platforms like Instagram.

The investigation into the gang’s activities revealed extensive narcotics transactions around the Marion Gardens Housing Complex. Herbert Thomas was identified as a primary supplier of narcotics to the gang.

Law enforcement arrested each defendant on March 17, 2023. Seized items included heroin, fentanyl, crack cocaine, ammunition, bulletproof vests, and firearms.

U.S. Attorney Habba credited various law enforcement agencies for their roles in the investigation leading to these convictions. Agencies involved include the Gang Intelligence Unit and Homicide Unit of Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office under Prosecutor Esther Suarez; ATF under Special Agent L.C. Cheeks Jr.; Jersey City Police Department under Director James Shea; FBI under Special Agent Stefanie Roddy; and U.S. Marshals under Juan Mattos.

This case is part of the Jersey City Violent Crime Initiative (VCI), established in 2018 to combat violent crime through collaboration among federal, state, county, and city agencies.

The prosecution team includes First Assistant U.S. Attorney Desiree Grace along with Assistant U.S. Attorneys John Maloy and Javon Henry from the Organized Crime and Gangs Unit of the U.S. Attorney’s Office’s Criminal Division in Newark.
