The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) has announced its endorsement of Representative Chris Smith for re-election to the U.S. House of Representatives. Smith is running to represent New Jersey’s 4th Congressional District.

Eileen Kean, NFIB New Jersey State Director, emphasized Smith’s dedication to small businesses, stating, “Rep. Chris Smith is a proven advocate of New Jersey’s small businesses.” She highlighted his consistent support, citing his 100% NFIB Voting Record: “He understands the issues impacting small business owners and has consistently voted with their priorities in mind. We are proud to endorse him today and look forward to continuing to work with him.”

Sharon Sussin, NFIB Senior National Political Director, echoed these sentiments, noting Smith’s advocacy for legislation favorable to small businesses. “Rep. Chris Smith has been an ally for Main Street in Washington,” said Sussin. “His record reflects his strong support for pro-small business legislation, and we are confident he will continue to be a dependable advocate for New Jersey’s small businesses. We are pleased to endorse Rep. Smith for re-election today.”

The endorsement from NFIB comes via their political action committee, NFIB FedPAC. The committee relies on voluntary contributions from NFIB members, separate from regular membership dues. The endorsement decisions are determined through a member-driven grassroots evaluation.
