Voters in New Jersey will head to the polls on November 4 to elect the state’s next governor and fill all 80 seats in the General Assembly. Local offices are also on the ballot during this general election. The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) is encouraging its members and other voters to participate, emphasizing the impact these races could have on small businesses.

“Good small business policy starts with electing good small business candidates. Tuesday, November 4 is Election Day for Governor and General Assembly legislative races in New Jersey. This election is your opportunity to use your voice to fight for policies in Trenton that support small business growth and opportunity. How can you be the Voice of Small Business? Make sure to VOTE on or before General Election Day. As you decide whom to elect, remember: small business is on the ballot. Thank you for your membership, and please Be the Voice of Small Business in New Jersey this election,” stated NFIB.

NFIB expressed readiness to collaborate with elected officials following the election, stating: “NFIB is eager to work with elected officials to improve New Jersey’s business climate. This election is crucial for small business, which is why electing pro-small business candidates is so important.”

Important dates related to voting include September 20, when mail-in ballots begin being sent out; October 14 as the deadline for voter registration; an early voting period from October 25 through November 2; and several deadlines related to mail-in ballots leading up through November 10.
