The New Jersey State Senate has approved a bill introduced by Senator Declan O’Scanlon, aimed at establishing a new Historic Distillery License. This license would enable holders to distill and sell alcoholic beverages on premises that are part of the New Jersey Register of Historic Places.
Senator O’Scanlon commented on the bill’s passage, stating, “New Jersey’s rich history is something to be celebrated. By creating this new Historic Distillery License, we can both give historic sites new opportunities to thrive by attracting new tourism avenues and honor our past while creating new experiences and revenue streams to support local economies.”
Under the provisions of the bill, license holders will be allowed to sell distilled alcoholic beverages for consumption both on-site and off-site, with a limit of 5 liters per person. The fee for obtaining such a license is set at $1,000.
