Senator Parker Space has announced the passage of S-2200, a bill aimed at supporting both local farmers and food banks in New Jersey. The legislation introduces a pilot program that offers tax credits to commercial farm operators who donate fruits and vegetables to food banks.

“This pilot program is a win-win for both our local farmers and those in need,” stated Senator Space. He emphasized that the initiative will “incentivize the donation of fresh produce to food banks,” which could alleviate financial pressures on New Jersey’s agricultural sector while providing healthy food options to vulnerable populations.

The full text of the bill is available for public review.
