Today, a bipartisan joint resolution sponsored by Senator Kristin Corrado has been signed into law, declaring New Jersey as a Purple Heart State. The resolution, SJR-103, honors the contributions and sacrifices of New Jersey service members who have received the Purple Heart Medal.

Senator Corrado expressed that “today’s declaration is more than symbolic – it is a powerful testament to our unwavering admiration and support for the brave men and women of New Jersey who have selflessly sacrificed for our freedoms.” She further noted that “by becoming the fourth state in the nation to honor Purple Heart Medal recipients with this declaration, New Jersey continues to build upon our commitment to recognize the valor of our Veterans and honor their enduring legacy.”

New Jersey now joins three other states in making this declaration. The full text of the resolution can be read online.
