Legislation has been introduced in New Jersey aimed at reducing the cost of energy for residents. Assemblyman Alex Sauicke proposed Assembly Bill 2908, which would exempt retail sales of natural gas and electrical services for residential customers from sales and use tax.

The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) highlighted that energy costs remain a significant issue for small business owners in New Jersey. The organization stated that although further action is needed to address the prices associated with generating and transmitting energy, this bill represents progress for local job creators, including many residential small business owners.

“Trenton needs to hear the Voice of Small Business. Send a message now!” the NFIB urged.
