NAIOP New Jersey hosted its 39th Annual Commercial Real Estate Awards Gala on May 15, celebrating the achievements of professionals and organizations in the state’s commercial real estate sector. The event took place at The Palace at Somerset Park and attracted hundreds of stakeholders from across the industry.

The awards gala recognized individuals and projects that have made significant contributions to New Jersey’s real estate landscape. Dan Kennedy, CEO of NAIOP New Jersey, said, “The honorees tonight represent the best of real estate and economic development. We are inspired by their commitment and excellence in transforming New Jersey’s communities. All of them will have a lasting impact on our state, industry, and association.”

Edwin Cohen of Prism Capital Partners LLC received the Charles Klatskin Lifetime Achievement Award for his longstanding service to both the industry and community. Clark Machemer from Crow Holdings Development and Rob Kossar from JLL were presented with Industry Impact Awards for their roles as trend setters within the sector.

Other recipients included Dana Nalbantian of Gensler, who was given the Industry Service Award, while East Brunswick Mayor Brad Cohen and Bedminster Mayor Lawrence Jacobs received Caren S. Franzini Public Partner Awards for their collaboration with private sector partners.

Several notable deals were also highlighted during the evening: Millstone 8 Logistics Park won Industrial Deal of the Year; Bell Works Fort Monmouth was named Mixed-Use Deal of the Year; 1888 Studios in Bayonne earned Emerging Markets Deal of the Year; Freshpet Global Headquarters received Office Deal of the Year; and Sanofi Flagship at M Station West in Morristown was awarded Transformational Deal of the Year.

The event underscored ongoing trends in redevelopment, mixed-use innovation, logistics growth, creative workspace solutions, and partnerships between public officials and developers.
