The Camden County Mosquito Control Commission is set to conduct mosquito spraying and surveillance throughout the community early Friday morning. The operation aims to address mosquito populations by targeting areas prone to standing water, which serves as a breeding ground for these insects.
Commissioner Jeffrey Nash, who serves as the liaison to the Camden County Mosquito Commission, emphasized the importance of residents taking preventive measures in their own yards. “It’s important for homeowners to check their yard and get rid any standing water to prevent mosquitos from spreading,” Nash stated. He advised checking flowerpots and other containers that might collect water, adding that being proactive can significantly impact the mosquito population while supporting the efforts of local authorities.
Weather permitting, Ultra-Low Volume (ULV) spraying will occur on Friday, June 6, 2025, between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m., covering various locations across Waterford (Atco), Voorhees, Cherry Hill, and Berlin within Camden County.
Locations in Waterford include streets such as Chestnut Ave, Garfield Ave, Cedar Ave, among others. In Voorhees, targeted areas include White Horse Rd., S. 5th St., Burnt Mill Rd., etc. Cherry Hill will see spraying on roads like Kent Rd., Colmar Rd., Colwick Rd., while Berlin’s operations will cover Washington Ave, Thomas Ave., Leroy Ave., among others.
Residents are encouraged to cooperate with the commission’s efforts by ensuring no standing water remains in outdoor spaces around their homes.
