Jefferson Health earns national recognition from U.S. News for hospital specialties

Jefferson Health has been recognized in the 2025-2026 U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals rankings, with several of its hospitals and specialties earning national distinction. Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals was named second in the country for Ophthalmology through Wills Eye Hospital and ranked tenth nationally for Rehabilitation under MossRehab, now known as Jefferson Moss-Magee Rehabilitation.

Within Pennsylvania, Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals (TJUH) secured the third spot statewide and maintained its position as second in the Philadelphia metropolitan area. Lehigh Valley Hospital–Cedar Crest tied with TJUH for third place in Pennsylvania and was ranked first in the Allentown metro area. Additionally, Jefferson Abington Hospital placed eighth in the Philadelphia region and seventeenth across Pennsylvania.

U.S. News & World Report also highlighted several TJUH specialties among the nation’s best: Ophthalmology (2nd), Orthopedics (19th), Ear, Nose and Throat (22nd), Neurology and Neurosurgery (25th), Pulmonology and Lung Surgery (35th), and Gastroenterology & GI Surgery (39th). The hospital received a high-performing designation in Cancer, Geriatrics, and Urology.

Lehigh Valley Hospital–Cedar Crest was recognized nationally for Orthopedics (25th) and Pulmonology & Lung Surgery (42nd), along with high performance ratings across Cardiology & Heart Surgery, Diabetes & Endocrinology, Gastroenterology & GI Surgery, Geriatrics, Neurology & Neurosurgery, and Urology.

MossRehab achieved a top-ten national ranking for rehabilitation services.

In addition to specialty recognition, multiple hospitals within Jefferson Health were rated highly for various procedures or conditions:

– Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals earned high performance marks in areas such as heart attack care, congestive heart failure management, abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, orthopedic surgeries including knee replacement and hip fracture treatment; cancer surgeries; stroke care; diabetes management; kidney failure treatment; among others.
– Lehigh Valley Hospital—Cedar Crest received similar high-performing designations for cardiac procedures like heart bypass surgery and pacemaker implantation; orthopedic surgeries; back surgery; cancer treatments; respiratory diseases such as COPD; stroke care; diabetes management; kidney failure.
– Other facilities—including Jefferson Abington Hospital, Jefferson Einstein Philadelphia Hospital, locations across New Jersey under Jefferson Health New Jersey banner (Cherry Hill Hospital et al.), Lansdale Hospital, Northeast campuses (Bucks/Torresdale/Frankford), Einstein Montgomery Hospital—were each noted for specific high-performing procedures ranging from joint replacements to chronic disease management.
