The New Jersey Department of Transportation announced on March 13 that the I-95 southbound Exit 68 ramp to Route 46 eastbound in Ridgefield Park, Bergen County, will be closed overnight for concrete bridge repairs.

The closure is scheduled to begin at 11 p.m. on Friday, March 13 and continue until 6 a.m. Saturday, March 14. The work is part of a $12.2 million state-funded maintenance contract aimed at repairing concrete structures at various locations throughout Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Morris, Passaic, Sussex, Union and Warren counties.

During the closure, motorists traveling on I-95 southbound who wish to access Route 46 eastbound or Ridgefield will be directed to take the ramp toward Route 46 westbound/Ridgefield Park. Drivers should stay straight onto Route 46 westbound, go through the Ridgefield Avenue intersection and turn right onto Main Street just past the Lukoil Gas Station. After passing Brewster Avenue, they should turn left to follow the Truck Route and then left again onto Main Street Bypass. Motorists will go under Route 46 before turning left following signs for Route 46 East/New York/NJ Turnpike/Hamilton Inn. A final left onto Main Street and right onto Route 46 eastbound completes the detour.

Officials said that the timing of this work may change due to weather or other factors. Motorists are encouraged to check NJDOT’s traffic information website at www.511nj.org for real-time travel updates and follow NJDOT on social media platforms for further news.

This project is one of several ongoing efforts by the state to maintain infrastructure across multiple counties.
