The New Jersey Department of Transportation announced on March 27 that the I-95 southbound Exit 68 ramp to Route 46 eastbound will be closed overnight in Ridgefield Park, Bergen County. The closure is scheduled from 11 p.m. Friday, March 27 until 6 a.m. Saturday, March 28, to allow for concrete deck repairs on the I-95 ramp over Route 46.

This closure was originally planned for March 13 but was postponed due to a scheduling conflict with work by the New Jersey Turnpike Authority. The department said the work is part of a $12.2 million state-funded maintenance contract aimed at repairing concrete structures at various locations throughout Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Morris, Passaic, Sussex, Union and Warren counties.

During the closure period, motorists traveling south on I-95 who wish to access Route 46 eastbound or Ridgefield will be directed via a detour route: drivers should take the ramp toward Route 46 westbound/Ridgefield Park and continue straight onto Route 46 westbound. After passing through the Ridgefield Avenue intersection and turning right onto Main Street (just past Lukoil Gas Station), they should go past Brewster Avenue and turn left following signs for Truck Route and Main Street Bypass before rejoining Route 46 eastbound as directed by signage.

The timing of this repair work may change depending on weather or other unforeseen factors. Drivers are encouraged to check NJDOT’s traffic information website at www.511nj.org for real-time updates about travel conditions.
