Senate Republican Leader Anthony M. Bucco has announced the scheduled reopening of two westbound lanes on Interstate 80. According to Bucco, paving and striping have been completed on the westbound side, and crews are currently installing guiderails and construction barriers to separate the active median work zone from traffic.

“It’s encouraging to see continued progress on I-80, with paving and striping now completed on the westbound side,” said Sen. Bucco (R-25). He added that everything remains on schedule for reopening later tonight.

Bucco emphasized caution for motorists traveling through the area, noting that it is still an active work zone. “As always, I urge motorists to slow down and use extra caution while driving through the area,” he stated. The reduced speed limits of 45 mph westbound and 40 mph eastbound remain in effect to ensure safety.

The senator expressed gratitude for the patience shown by residents, commuters, and businesses during this period of disruption. “I appreciate the ongoing patience of residents, commuters, and businesses for enduring this horrible situation as we move toward full restoration so everyone can resume their daily routines,” he concluded.
