The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) has announced that the I-80 eastbound Exit 62A and Exit 62B ramps in Saddle Brook, Bergen County, will be closed for repaving on Monday and Tuesday nights.
On Monday, November 24, from 11 p.m. until 5 a.m. Tuesday, November 25, the Exit 62A ramp to the Garden State Parkway north/Saddle Brook will be closed for paving and restriping. During this time, motorists who wish to access the Garden State Parkway north via Exit 62A will be directed to take Exit 62B instead. From there, drivers should turn left onto Saddle River Road, then left again to access I-80 westbound and take Exit 62 to reach the Garden State Parkway or Midland Avenue/Saddle Brook. The Exit 62B/Saddle River Road/Fairlawn/Lodi ramp will remain open during this period. If work is completed earlier than scheduled, the ramp will reopen sooner.
On Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, both Exits 62A and 62B eastbound ramps will close from 11 p.m., November 25 until 5 a.m., November 26. Motorists seeking these exits will need to continue on I-80 eastbound and stay right toward the Local/George Washington Bridge Lower Level lanes. They are instructed to take Exit 63/Route 17 north/Rochelle Park/Paramus, turn left onto Riverview Avenue at the end of the ramp, then left again onto I-80 westbound before taking Exit 62 back toward their destination.
These closures are part of an $11.1 million maintenance project aimed at milling and paving highways and ramps across Bergen, Hudson, Sussex, Union, and Warren counties. The project is scheduled for completion in fall of 2026.
Portable variable message signs have been placed to inform drivers about changes in traffic patterns due to this work. NJDOT advises that scheduling may change based on weather or other unforeseen factors.
Motorists are encouraged by NJDOT to check real-time travel information at www.511nj.org as well as updates through social media channels including X (Twitter), Facebook, and Instagram.
