Senator Jim Holzapfel has revealed that Manasquan is set to receive a significant financial boost of $1.7 million through a Transportation Projects Fund (TPF) grant aimed at enhancing the Stockton Lake bulkhead.

“I’m glad that the Commissioner approved Manasquan’s grant request,” expressed Holzapfel (R-10) about the grant. “Flooding in lake communities has the potential to become a chronic and costly issue. These funds will help mitigate that problem by allowing Manasquan to replace a large section of Stockton Lake’s bulkhead so that homes and properties in the area are protected from future storm damage.”

The Stockton Lake Bulkhead Project, which is the focus of the grant, involves the replacement of around 1,400 linear feet of bulkhead. This protective structure plays a crucial role in preventing flooding during heavy rainfalls or severe storms, safeguarding the community from potential damage.

The TPF, which facilitated this grant, was established with the specific purpose of addressing local transportation concerns across the state. It stands as one of the various grants overseen by the New Jersey Department of Transportation.
