Jack Ciattarelli, a candidate for Governor of New Jersey, said that public safety and the well-being of New Jersey’s residents, including commuters and the Jewish community, are his priority. The statement was made on X.

“Hey Mikie Sherrill, where’s the lie in the below video where you endorse a socialist who said police are a threat to public safety, who supports criminal illegals, who promoted anti-semitism and violence against Jews, and has promised massive tax increases,” said Ciattarelli. “Because you’re not from New Jersey, you probably don’t know that 500,000 NJ residents work in NYC and that NJ has over 500k Jewish residents. Is their safety not your concern?? It is MINE!!”

The 2025 New Jersey gubernatorial race has focused heavily on public safety, anti-Semitism, and law enforcement. GOP nominee Ciattarelli highlighted a post-pandemic influx of over 75,000 New Yorkers and pledged to protect the state’s Jewish population of around 500,000. He framed New Jersey as a sanctuary of law and order in contrast to New York’s policing debates, as reported by the New York Post.

According to preliminary data from New Jersey Attorney General Matt Platkin and AP News, the state experienced a 22% rise in reported bias incidents in 2023, reaching 2,699 total. Anti-Jewish bias accounted for 22%—the highest in over a decade—highlighting growing concerns about hate crimes and communal safety.

Wikipedia notes that New Jersey is home to about 545,450 Jewish residents—6.1% of the state population—and hosts the fourth largest Jewish community in the U.S. More than half a million residents commute to New York City, making demographic and safety issues a key priority for state and local leaders.

According to Wikipedia, Jack Ciattarelli is a Republican businessman and former state assemblyman who ran for governor in both 2021 and 2025. His campaign platform focuses on public safety, combating anti-Semitism, and positioning New Jersey as a safe haven for families and faith communities.
