A Gloucester County resident, Ian Dudley, was convicted by a jury on June 11, 2025, for distributing methamphetamine and fentanyl. The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Alina Habba.
Dudley, aged 39 from Williamstown, New Jersey, faced charges of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine. This is classified as a Schedule II controlled substance. He violated several sections of the United States Code (21 U.S.C.), including § 846 for conspiracy and §§ 841(a)(1), (b)(1)(A), and (b)(1)(C) for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and/or fentanyl. The trial took place before U.S. District Judge Christine P. O’Hearn in Camden federal court. Sentencing is set for October 22, 2025.
Evidence presented during the trial showed that between June 2023 and October 2023, Dudley collaborated with Joseph Watson and others to distribute crystal methamphetamine and fentanyl in both Camden County and Gloucester County. Throughout this period, Dudley sold around 17.5 pounds of crystal methamphetamine and about one ounce of fentanyl to an undercover federal agent.
The charges related to conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and two counts of distribution carry a maximum sentence of up to 20 years in prison along with a $1 million fine. Additionally, four other counts involving the distribution of methamphetamine or fentanyl have mandatory minimum sentences of ten years in prison but could lead up to life imprisonment.
U.S. Attorney Habba acknowledged the efforts of special agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives who were directed by L.C. Cheeks Jr., crediting them for their investigation into the case.
Assistant U.S. Attorneys Joseph McFarlane and Josephine Park are representing the government in this matter.
