The Main Street/CR 527 Bridge over the D&R Canal in South Bound Brook, Somerset County, will undergo emergency deck repairs tonight. This necessitates a lane closure with alternating traffic.

Starting at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23, the southbound lane of the bridge will be closed for deck grating repairs. Traffic will alternate using one lane until work is completed by Thursday morning. Motorists are advised to exercise caution, reduce speed, and anticipate delays.

Main Street/CR 527 connects South Bound Brook and Bound Brook via two bridges—one over the D&R Canal and another over the Raritan River. The bridge requiring repair spans approximately 90 feet over the canal.

The schedule may change due to weather or other factors. Motorists can visit NJDOT’s website at www.511nj.org for updates and real-time travel information. For further NJDOT news, follow @NewJerseyDOT on X (Twitter), Facebook, or Instagram @NewJersey.DOT.
