Congressman Donald Norcross, who represents New Jersey’s 1st district and has been serving in the U.S. Congress since 2014, recently shared his views on social media regarding pressing national issues. His comments touched on antisemitism, faith-based security funding, and disaster preparedness.
On June 2, 2025, Norcross condemned the attack in Boulder, Colorado, describing it as “horrific” and “fueled by antisemitism.” He expressed concern about the increasing antisemitism across the United States and affirmed that he would not tolerate such hate in the country.
Later that day, Norcross announced his support for increased funding for faith-based security programs. In a letter to President Trump, he emphasized the need for federal action to bolster security measures amidst rising violence against Jewish communities.
On June 3, 2025, Norcross criticized FEMA’s leadership, underscoring the importance of competent management to prepare for disasters. He highlighted South Jersey’s experience with Hurricane Sandy as a reminder of the urgency needed in disaster preparedness efforts.
Norcross was born in Camden, New Jersey in 1958 and has had a long political career including service in both the New Jersey General Assembly and Senate before his tenure in Congress began.
