Congressman Donald Norcross, representing New Jersey’s 1st district since 2014, has recently shared his views on several issues through a series of tweets. The Congressman, who succeeded Rob Andrews in the U.S. Congress and previously served in the New Jersey General Assembly and Senate, addressed topics ranging from appreciation for maritime workers to opposition against budget cuts and concern over antisemitism.

On May 22, 2025, Congressman Norcross expressed gratitude towards maritime workers. In his tweet “From shipbuilders to longshore workers to sailors, maritime workers have been instrumental in building our economy and defending our country. Today, and every day, we thank them for their service and contributions.”

Later that morning, he communicated his stance on a recent budget bill vote. He stated “Early this morning, I voted ‘no’ on the Trump-Republican budget bill that cuts Medicare, Medicaid, and food assistance for seniors, veterans, working families and children.” He directed readers to further details via a statement linked in the tweet.

In another post from the same day at 14:57 UTC, Norcross addressed a violent incident involving Israeli Embassy staffers. He wrote “I’m deeply saddened by the tragic shooting of two Israeli Embassy staffers in DC last night. My heart goes out to their families and loved ones. This act of violence is a painful reminder of the alarming rise of antisemitism.” His message extended condolences to affected communities while highlighting concerns over increasing antisemitic acts.

Norcross was born in Camden, New Jersey in 1958 where he continues to reside today.
