Congressman Donald Norcross, who represents New Jersey’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, shared on July 23, 2025, a series of posts expressing gratitude to union airline workers and medical staff for their roles in saving his life during a recent health emergency.
In a tweet posted at 21:41 UTC, Norcross stated, “The pilot and flight attendants on that flight, all union members with @Teamsters Locals 357 and 135, acted swiftly to save my life. @TeamsterSOB joined me today as I presented each of them with a framed Congressional Record honoring their heroic actions.” He continued in another post at the same time, “When workers are trained, equipped, and empowered, they save lives. I’m living proof.”
Norcross also acknowledged the medical professionals involved in his recovery from sepsis. In a subsequent tweet on July 23, he wrote, “I’ll never forget what these union workers did for me. And I’m forever grateful to the doctors and nurses at UNC Rex and Cooper University Hospital who helped me fully recover from sepsis.”
Norcross has served in Congress since 2014 after replacing Rob Andrews and is known for his advocacy on labor issues. Before joining Congress, he served in both the New Jersey General Assembly and Senate. Born in Camden in 1958, Norcross continues to reside there while representing his district.
