Congressman Donald Norcross, who represents New Jersey’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently highlighted his annual nominations of South Jersey students to national service academies and discussed his legislative efforts regarding payment options at the U.S. Capitol.
On February 12, 2026, Norcross posted about his role in nominating local students: “Every year, I have the honor of nominating outstanding South Jersey students to our nation’s service academies. These young leaders have shown a real commitment to service and country, and I know they will represent our community well as they take this next step.” He followed up with an invitation for more information: “Learn more: https://t.co/6o193vMElm”.
Later that day, Norcross addressed concerns about payment methods at the U.S. Capitol: “Its ridiculous you can’t use U.S. currency to make a purchase at the U.S. Capitol. That’s why I introduced the Payment Choice Act which requires all brick-and-mortar stores to accept cash.  No American should be turned away for choosing to pay with the legal tender in their”.
Norcross has served in Congress since 2014 after succeeding Rob Andrews and previously held positions in both the New Jersey General Assembly and Senate. Born in Camden, New Jersey in 1958, Norcross continues to reside there while representing his district on federal issues.
