Congressman Donald Norcross, representing New Jersey’s 1st district since 2014, has recently shared his views on education and social benefits through a series of tweets. Norcross, who has been active in politics since serving in the New Jersey General Assembly and Senate, emphasized the importance of access to education and protecting social programs.

On March 3, 2025, Congressman Norcross highlighted the significance of reading for young people. He stated: “Reading opens doors, expands minds, and helps empower the next generation. On Read Across America Day, we’re reminded of the importance of ensuring every child has access to books, a high-quality education, and the opportunities they bring.”

The following day, March 4, 2025, he expressed concerns over potential changes to key social programs by House Republicans. In his tweet he noted: “House Republicans are working behind closed doors to rip away Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid from millions of hardworking Americans… Today I joined over 200 House Democrats to send a clear message: Hands off our benefits.”

Later that same day on March 4th, Congressman Norcross reiterated his commitment to education as part of his role with @EdWorkforceDems and as co-chair of the @Labor_Caucus. He tweeted: “As a member of @EdWorkforceDems and co-chair of the @Labor_Caucus I stand with @AFTunion on this Day of Action to Protect Our Kids from the Trump administration’s plan to cut the Department of Education.”
