U.S. Congressman Donald Norcross, who represents New Jersey’s 1st district and resides in Camden, used his social media platform this week to highlight community efforts in Camden County addressing addiction and local progress through collaboration.
On September 2, 2025, Norcross posted about the annual remembrance for those lost to addiction in Camden County. He wrote, “Every year, we come together as a community in Camden County to remember those we lost to addiction. Their memory pushes us to fight for better care, fair treatment, and to break the stigma. Together, we honor their memories and work to end the disease of addiction.” In a nearly identical post on the same day referencing @CamdenCountynj, he reiterated: “Every year, we come together as a community in @CamdenCountynj to remember those we lost to addiction. Their memory pushes us to fight for better care, fair treatment, and to break the stigma. Together, we honor their memories and work to end the disease of addiction.”
The following day, September 3, 2025, Norcross highlighted broader collaborative efforts within Camden City: “When government, business, nonprofits, and neighbors work together, families win. Camden’s progress can be seen in our community every day as we continue working to improve our schools, keep our streets safe, and generate new jobs. Through teamwork, Camden City will continue to”
Norcross has served in Congress since 2014 after replacing Rob Andrews. Before joining Congress he was a member of both the New Jersey General Assembly and Senate between 2010 and 2014. Born in Camden in 1958 and currently residing there at age 64, Norcross continues his focus on local issues including public health initiatives around addiction and ongoing city development.
