Congressman Donald Norcross, a prominent figure representing New Jersey’s 1st district since 2014, expressed his views on several pressing matters related to labor and economic policies in a series of recent posts. As the only electrician in Congress and co-chair of the Labor Caucus, Norcross is actively involved in advocating for workers’ rights.

On May 1, 2025, Norcross tweeted, “We are stronger as a nation when workers have fair wages, safe working conditions, and a voice in the workplace. As the only electrician in Congress and a co-chair of @Labor_Caucus, I am fighting to ensure every worker can succeed. Happy International Workers Day!” He emphasized the importance of fair labor conditions in recognizing International Workers Day.

Later that day, Norcross celebrated a significant milestone for Local 351 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). He shared, “Happy birthday to @IBEW Local 351! I began my apprenticeship in 1979, and this card has opened doors ever since. When workers stick together, we gain the power to raise wages and improve lives.” Norcross credited his early involvement with the IBEW for shaping his professional path and reiterated the power of unity among workers.

Addressing economic issues, Norcross posted, “Trump’s policies have led to a shrinkage in the U.S. economy this year, hurting American workers and families. Slow growth, inflation, and uncertainty put more pressure on hardworking people. Trump could learn a thing or two about how to put American families first.” This statement reflects his criticism of former President Donald Trump’s economic policies, which he argues have negatively impacted American workers and their families.

Donald Norcross was born in Camden, New Jersey, in 1958 and has made significant contributions to public service.
