On April 16, 2025, Norcross addressed the topic of federal minimum wage, stating, “A full-time worker making the federal minimum wage should be able to cover the rent of a modest two-bedroom apartment anywhere in this country. Today, a full-time worker cannot afford that in America. That’s why the Raise the Wage Act of 2025 is a no-brainer.” The Raise the Wage Act is presented as a solution to bridge the gap for many low-income workers struggling to afford housing.
At a later time on the same day, Norcross highlighted the role of Medicaid in family support. He shared an example, “Recovery takes time, and Medicaid gives families the support they need to heal and adapt to new lifestyles.” He referenced a story of “Hilary, whose son lost his memory and faced homelessness. They now rely on Medicaid for the care that’s helping him slowly improve.” This comment points to the vital role Medicaid plays for individuals in challenging circumstances.
In another post that day, Norcross brought attention to the Veterans Affairs’ VASP program, “The VA’s VASP program has helped thousands of veterans stay in their homes and was on track to support tens of thousands more. Now Trump’s shutting it down. Veterans deserve better.” The post advises veterans with VA-backed loans to contact their loan servicers as applications are still open, asserting the critical necessity for continued support systems for veterans.
