Congressman Donald Norcross, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing New Jersey’s 1st district since 2014, shared his thoughts on various topics through a series of tweets. Norcross, who replaced Rob Andrews in Congress and previously served in the New Jersey General Assembly and Senate, expressed his views on leadership, worker safety, and international affairs.

On May 10, 2025, Congressman Norcross commemorated Nelson Mandela’s historic achievement as South Africa’s first Black President. He stated that “Nelson Mandela showed what it means to lead with courage and purpose. 31 years ago, he became the first Black President of South Africa after helping to dismantle the brutal system of apartheid. His legacy of justice and equality inspires us all to stand up for what is right.”

The following day, May 11, 2025, Norcross addressed concerns regarding worker safety amidst changes implemented by former President Trump and Elon Musk. He emphasized that “Workers deserve to return home the same way they came to work, safe.” He advocated for the Protecting America’s Workers Act as a measure to hold employers accountable for unsafe conditions by strengthening penalties and requiring hazard corrections.

Later on May 11th, Congressman Norcross commented on an international issue involving Edan Alexander from New Jersey. Alexander has been held by Hamas terrorists for over a year under dire circumstances. Norcross expressed cautious optimism about Alexander’s potential release: “For a year and a half, Edan Alexander of New Jersey has been held by Hamas terrorists against his will in unfathomable conditions. While only time will tell if Hamas will finally release Edan, this news is a glimmer of hope that he may finally be able to come home.”

Donald Norcross was born in Camden, New Jersey in 1958 and continues to reside there at age 64.
