Congressman Donald Norcross, who represents New Jersey’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared a series of posts on social media addressing both the impeachment of former President Trump and legislative efforts to support app-based workers.
On December 12, 2025, Norcross posted, “I just voted again to impeach President Trump. His chaos and confusion have undermined our democracy, eroded trust in our institutions, and put our nation at risk. Enough is enough.”
Later that day, he addressed issues facing workers in the gig economy. At 14:55 UTC on December 12, Norcross wrote, “As an electrician, I knew who my boss was, knew my pay, and knew how decisions were made. Workers in the app-based economy, like Uber and DoorDash drivers, deserve the same transparency. That is why @RepJayapal and I introduced the Empowering App-Based Workers Act.” In a subsequent post at nearly the same time, he added, “The Empowering App-Based Workers Act is a long-overdue step toward fairness & transparency for the millions of rideshare drivers & delivery app workers who keep our economy running. By guaranteeing transparent payment information & higher wages, these workers will finally receive”
Norcross has served as U.S. Representative for New Jersey’s 1st district since replacing Rob Andrews in 2014. Before his tenure in Congress, he was a member of both the New Jersey General Assembly and Senate between 2010 and 2014. Born in Camden in 1958 and currently residing there at age 64, Norcross has maintained a focus on labor issues throughout his career.
