Congressman Donald Norcross, who represents New Jersey’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on April 7, 2026, criticizing President Trump’s proposed 2027 budget and the administration’s approach to federal spending.
In a tweet posted at 15:30 UTC on April 7, Norcross stated, “Last week, the White House unveiled Trump’s 2027 budget and its filled with ways to make life harder and more expensive for working Americans. All this, and more, so that MAGA Republicans can give billionaires more tax breaks and fund Trump’s War of Choice in Iran. Ask https://t.co/jHBqg5fEIh”.
Later that day at 16:27 UTC, Norcross further criticized the President’s conduct by posting, “This conduct by the Commander-in-Chief is dangerous and disgraceful. Congress has a duty to hold the President accountable for his actions, and it’s about time we took action. https://t.co/zkdu8e7M7t”.
At 20:04 UTC on April 7, Norcross continued his criticism of President Trump’s priorities regarding social programs. He wrote, “Trump has said publicly time and time again that funding Medicare, Medicaid, child care services, and other programs that make life more affordable for working families is not a priority. He’d much rather fund his war of choice in Iran. Hear it is again, right out of his mouth. https://t.co/G9mAS3ZXV6”.
Donald Norcross has served as a member of Congress since replacing Rob Andrews in 2014 and previously held positions in both the New Jersey General Assembly and State Senate between 2010 and 2014. Born in Camden in 1958, he continues to reside there while representing his district.
