Congressman Donald Norcross, representing New Jersey’s 1st district, shared a series of critical views about the current political landscape on social media. As a seasoned lawmaker with a deep connection to his community, Norcross addressed key issues affecting his constituents and wider American society through his recent tweets.
On April 29, 2025, Congressman Norcross criticized the early policies of President Donald Trump in his second term. He stated, “100 days into Trump’s 2nd term, it’s been nothing but chaos. He’s slashed vital programs, fired key staff, and attacked workers, seniors, and our democracy. South Jersey families deserve better.” This tweet reflects his concern over the perceived instability and social impacts of the new administration’s decisions.
The next day, April 30, Norcross expressed his apprehension regarding Republican-led legislative actions. He tweeted, “Not only are Trump and his Republican friends in Congress trying to take away Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security, they are now making draconian cuts to grants that support education for low-income and middle-class students. Read my full statement on the Republicans'” This highlights his ongoing commitment to safeguarding healthcare and educational support programs.
Later on the same day, Norcross reflected on his personal journey and the significance of apprenticeships. He wrote, “A registered apprenticeship shaped my life — laying the foundation for me to go from the construction site to Congress. This National Apprenticeship Day, we celebrate apprenticeship programs, which provide people with a good education and connect them to stable, good-paying jobs.”
Donald Norcross, born in Camden, New Jersey in 1958, has a longstanding commitment to public service, having served in the New Jersey General Assembly and Senate before joining the U.S. Congress in 2014, where he continues to advocate for his community.
