Congressman Donald Norcross, who represents New Jersey’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently used his social media platform to criticize former President Donald Trump and Republican lawmakers over veterans’ care and benefits.

On August 9, Norcross wrote, “Under Donald Trump, the VA is losing tens of thousands of employees, 30,000 and counting. This isn’t by accident. It’s a planned effort to gut the system our veterans rely on. Fewer staff means longer wait times, fewer services, and worse care.”

The following day, August 10, he addressed the anniversary of key legislation: “2 years ago, the PACT Act was signed into law to give toxic-exposed veterans the care they earned. It is a shame that Trump and Republicans choose not to continue funding this program. I will always work to defend veterans from these attacks and ensure they get the benefits they”.

On August 11, Norcross continued his criticism with specific policy references: “Trump’s H.R. 1 isn’t just a bad bill, it’s a betrayal of those who served our country in uniform. Cuts SNAP for 1.2M veterans Slashes Medicaid access Guts student loan support Veterans gave everything. I am fighting back to make sure our bravest get what they earned”.

Norcross has represented New Jersey’s 1st District in Congress since 2014 after succeeding Rob Andrews. He previously held positions in both the New Jersey General Assembly and Senate between 2010 and 2014. Born in Camden in 1958, Norcross continues to reside there while serving as an advocate for veterans’ issues.
