Congressman Donald Norcross, representing New Jersey’s 1st district since 2014, has voiced his concerns over recent political developments through a series of tweets. The Congressman, who succeeded Rob Andrews in the U.S. Congress and previously served in both the New Jersey General Assembly and Senate, shared his thoughts on issues ranging from healthcare to labor agreements.

On May 18, 2025, Norcross expressed criticism towards former President Trump and House Republicans for allegedly misleading the public about Medicaid. He stated that “Trump and House Republicans LIED to you.” He accused them of taking healthcare away from vulnerable groups such as seniors, children, veterans, and people with disabilities to provide tax cuts for billionaires.

In a subsequent tweet on May 19, 2025, Norcross commented positively on labor negotiations involving NJ Transit. He noted his satisfaction with an agreement reached between NJ Transit and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen to end a strike. He described this development as “an important step toward a fair deal for the workers and NJ families who rely on public transit.”

Later that day, Norcross addressed what he termed as a “tax scam” pushed through by Republicans. On May 19, 2025, he tweeted that “Last night, Republicans pushed through their tax scam in the dead of night because they know how wildly unpopular it is.” According to him, this action would detrimentally affect healthcare access for seniors and working families while benefiting billionaires.

Donald Norcross was born in Camden, New Jersey in 1958 where he currently resides. At age 64, he continues to serve his constituents by addressing critical issues affecting them.
