In a tweet posted at 14:56 UTC, Norcross praised the Speaker of the House: “No one navigates the legislative body of the House with greater skill than Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Her legislative record stands unmatched, reflecting decades of policies that have put the American people first and improved lives for millions across this nation.”
Later that day at 17:12 UTC, Norcross criticized former President Donald Trump regarding the government shutdown: “Trump said it himself: problems start from the top. His reckless shutdown is forcing families to skip meals and federal workers to miss paychecks. It’s time to end the chaos, lower healthcare costs, and reopen the government.”
By 20:24 UTC on November 6th, Norcross continued his commentary on social media about the duration of the shutdown: “Day 37 of America held hostage by Trump and Republicans. Time for Trump to start using those negotiation skills he talks so much about and help us reopen the government and lower healthcare costs.”
Norcross has served in Congress since replacing Rob Andrews in 2014. Before joining Congress, he was a member of both the New Jersey General Assembly and Senate between 2010 and 2014. Born in Camden in 1958, Norcross continues to reside there while representing his constituents.
