Congressman Donald Norcross, representing New Jersey’s 1st district since 2014, took to social media to express his appreciation for workplace safety and to commemorate Workers Memorial Day in a series of posts on April 28, 2025.
In one post, Norcross wished a “Happy 54th birthday to @OSHA_DOL” “As an electrician by trade and a member of @Labor_Caucus, I’m thankful for your valuable and essential work protecting workers across our country.” The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is a regulatory body tasked with ensuring safe and healthy working conditions for employees.
Later in the day, Norcross marked Workers Memorial Day with a somber statement “On Workers Memorial Day, we remember those who were killed or seriously injured on the job. As a union electrician, there were times when the guys I worked with didn’t come home. In Congress, I am fighting to make sure all workers come to work and leave the same way: safe.” This commemoration underlines his dedication to improving job safety for all workers.
Norcross also shared a link for further reading, inviting his audience to explore more information on the day’s topic through his post “Read more here: https://t.co/TLZSpmX1NV”
Donald Norcross hails from Camden, New Jersey, where he was born in 1958 and continues to reside. His political career includes tenures in the New Jersey General Assembly and Senate, eventually succeeding Rob Andrews in U.S. Congress in 2014.
