Congressman Donald Norcross, who represents New Jersey’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, used his social media platform on December 11, 2025, to address concerns about healthcare tax credits and labor rights.
In a post on December 11, Norcross stated, “You deserve better. I joined every House Democrat in demanding a vote on a three-year extension of these tax credits. If just a handful of Republicans sign the discharge petition, we can stop these massive premium hikes.” On the same day, he highlighted the impact of expiring healthcare tax credits for his constituents: “Healthcare tax credits have helped thousands of South Jersey families afford the care they need. But if Congress doesn’t act by the end of the month, premiums will skyrocket. In South Jersey, 24,000 people will see their costs rise, some by more than $10,000.”
Later that evening, Norcross addressed federal labor policy changes under former President Trump: “Earlier this year, President Trump launched one of the largest attacks on labor in modern history when he signed an executive order stripping federal workers of their collective bargaining rights. It was a blatant union-busting tactic by the ‘union-buster in chief.'”
Norcross has represented New Jersey’s 1st District since 2014 after succeeding Rob Andrews and previously served in both chambers of the New Jersey legislature. Born in Camden in 1958 and currently residing there at age 64, Norcross has been an advocate for labor rights and affordable healthcare throughout his career.
