Congressman Donald Norcross, representing New Jersey’s 1st district since 2014, shared his perspectives on various issues through a series of tweets. Born in Camden, New Jersey in 1958, Norcross has been an active voice in the U.S. Congress, advocating for several social and safety concerns.

On May 5, 2025, Congressman Norcross expressed concern over Republican policies, stating “Let’s be clear: Republicans are attacking working students, veterans, and low-income families — all to pay for tax cuts for billionaires and corporations. We should be expanding opportunity, not pulling the ladder up behind us.” This statement reflects his stance on economic inequality and the importance of creating opportunities for all citizens.

In another tweet on the same day, he highlighted his connection to military families by writing “As a military father and member of @HASCDemocrats, I know ‘our military’ means our loved ones. This #MilitaryAppreciationMonth, we honor those who’ve put country ahead of self and remember our commitment to take care of them.” Norcross’s acknowledgment during Military Appreciation Month underscores his dedication to supporting service members and their families.

Further emphasizing community safety initiatives, Norcross tweeted about motorcycle safety awareness. He stated “Riding motorcycles is one of the simple pleasures in life. Everyone should have the opportunity to ride safely…” He mentioned efforts to designate May as Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month to enhance rider safety and education.

Norcross has served New Jersey’s 1st District since succeeding Rob Andrews in 2014. His prior roles include serving in both the New Jersey General Assembly and Senate from 2010 until he joined Congress.
