Congressman Donald Norcross, who has represented New Jersey’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress since 2014, recently addressed several issues affecting workers, seniors, and families through a series of posts on social media. The posts highlight legislative initiatives and critiques of recent policy changes.
On July 11, 2025, Norcross discussed his introduction of the Warehouse Worker Protection Act. He stated: “That’s why I introduced the Warehouse Worker Protection Act. To hold companies accountable, make workplaces safer, and put workers’ lives ahead of profits. No one should have to choose between a paycheck and their safety.”
Later that day, Norcross commented on staffing reductions at the Social Security Administration. In his post dated July 11, 2025, he wrote: “When you gut @SocialSecurity’s workforce, this is what happens: longer wait times, crashing websites, and seniors left in the lurch. Now they’re pulling staff from field offices just to keep up with phone calls. Our seniors deserve better than this.”
On July 12, 2025, Norcross criticized recent changes to federal nutrition assistance programs following the passage of legislation he referred to as “Trump’s Big Ugly Bill.” He said: “In South Jersey, I’ve seen how hard families work to put food on the table. Trump’s Big Ugly Bill – which is now law – cuts SNAP, hurting our neighbors and leaving food banks scrambling to fill the gap. You can’t call yourself pro-family while taking food off kids’ plates.”
Donald Norcross was born in Camden, New Jersey in 1958 and continues to reside there at age 64. Before joining Congress in 2014 after replacing Rob Andrews, he served in both the New Jersey General Assembly and Senate.
