Congressman Donald Norcross, who represents New Jersey’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of statements on social media addressing labor rights, healthcare legislation, and the memory of a late colleague.
On December 16, 2025, Norcross shared his support for restaurant workers in Washington D.C. seeking to unionize. He stated: “Last week, I spoke with workers in DC from The Duck & The Peach, La Collina, and The Wells, about their plans to unionize. It’s clear they want what every worker deserves: a fair process and a voice at work. I stand with them & support their right to organize without intimidation”.
The following day, December 17, 2025, Norcross addressed ongoing legislative efforts regarding healthcare costs. He wrote: “The House has spoken. Speaker Johnson must allow an immediate vote to extend ACA tax credits and protect families from higher healthcare costs. With 218 signatures on the bipartisan petition, there is no excuse for delay.”
Later that same day, Norcross paid tribute to his late friend and colleague Rep. Donald Payne Jr., noting what would have been Payne’s birthday: “Today I’m remembering my friend Rep. Donald Payne Jr. on what would have been his 67th birthday. He brought Jersey values to Washington every day, led with kindness, and never forgot who he was fighting for. We miss you and your bow tie, Don.”
Norcross has represented New Jersey’s 1st district since replacing Rob Andrews in 2014 after serving in both the New Jersey General Assembly and Senate between 2010 and 2014. Born in Camden in 1958 and currently residing there at age 64, Norcross continues to advocate for labor rights and accessible healthcare as part of his congressional agenda.
