Congressman Donald Norcross, representing New Jersey’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, has shared thoughts on recent events through a series of tweets over several days, reflecting on a global loss, celebrating Earth Day, and addressing transparency concerns in government operations.

On April 21, 2025, Donald Norcross joined others in marking the passing of Pope Francis. In his tweet, he stated, “Today, I join millions around the world in mourning the loss of Pope Francis. He will forever be remembered for his compassion for the poor and his dedication to lifting up the most vulnerable among us. May he rest in peace.”

The following day, April 22, 2025, Norcross conveyed his commitment to environmental issues in recognition of Earth Day. He tweeted, “Happy Earth Day! We will never stop fighting to preserve and protect America’s natural resources.”

On April 23, 2025, Congressman Norcross expressed his concerns about transparency within the federal government. He pointedly critiqued the influence of a special government employee, Elon Musk, by tweeting, “The American people deserve transparency, especially when a special government employee is taking a chainsaw to the federal government. They deserve to know that Musk is profiting from the few things he won’t touch.”

Donald Norcross has served in Congress since 2014 after succeeding Rob Andrews. Prior to his current role, he was a member of the New Jersey General Assembly and Senate. Born in 1958, Norcross is a long-term resident of Camden, New Jersey.
