Congressman Donald Norcross, who represents New Jersey’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed local safety concerns and national issues through a series of social media posts.

On January 26, 2026, Norcross posted about ongoing cold weather conditions in South Jersey: “As freezing temperatures continue throughout South Jersey this week, remember that warming centers are open. If you or someone you know needs a warm place, dial 211 to find open warming centers and local resources. Remember to stay safe and check on your neighbors.”

Later that day, he commented on the death of Alex Pretti and criticized statements made by the Trump administration: “U.S. citizen Alex Pretti’s death is a tragedy, and the Trump administration’s false claims about his killing are disgusting. At least three of the eight or more federal agents at the scene of his death were apparently wearing body cameras. It is still unclear whether they were”

On January 27, 2026, Norcross marked International Holocaust Remembrance Day with a statement: “Today we remember the six million Jewish people murdered during the Holocaust. On International Holocaust Remembrance Day, and every day, we stand against antisemitism and ensure these horrors are never forgotten.”

Norcross has served as a member of Congress since 2014 after replacing Rob Andrews. He previously held positions in both the New Jersey General Assembly and Senate between 2010 and 2014. Born in Camden in 1958, Norcross continues to reside there while representing his district.
