Congressman Donald Norcross, who represents New Jersey’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of tweets addressing community policing reforms in Camden, political violence, and public safety during extreme weather.

On January 25, 2026, Norcross highlighted changes made to Camden’s police department: “Back in 2013, Camden reformed their police department, and rebuilt it with a renewed focus on community policing. We went from one of the highest murder rates in the country to one of the lowest proving that community centered, transparent police departments work. I think its https://t.co/psM8A1YHzr”.

Later that day, he commented on an attack involving Rep. Maxwell Frost: “I’m relieved @RepMaxwellFrost is okay. This attack is a reminder of how common political violence has become in our nation. The man who did this cited Trump’s hateful rhetoric, showing how words from our President can do real harm. Let’s be clear: violence is never the https://t.co/dcX3d6heEc”.

On January 26, 2026, Norcross thanked emergency responders and transit workers for their efforts during severe cold weather conditions: “Thank you to our emergency responders and transit workers for keeping New Jersey safe during extreme cold. Norcross has served as the representative for New Jersey’s 1st District since 2014 after replacing Rob Andrews. Before his tenure in Congress, he served in both the New Jersey General Assembly and Senate between 2010 and 2014. Born in Camden in 1958, Norcross continues to reside there.
