Congressman Donald Norcross, who represents New Jersey’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of statements on social media addressing federal policy issues including minimum wage, immigration enforcement, and funding for mental health services.

When will they finally vote to support the American worker?”
Later that day, Norcross addressed local concerns about immigration enforcement facilities. In his post at 18:33 UTC he stated, “Turning an industrial warehouse into an ICE detention center without local input is wrong. Decisions like this shouldn’t be made behind closed doors. I stand with my colleagues against this proposal.”
In a subsequent message posted at 19:01 UTC on January 14, Norcross expressed opposition to proposed budget cuts for mental health and substance use disorder treatment programs. He said, “Slashing $1.9 billion from mental health and substance use disorder treatment will no doubt lead to more overdoses and more grieving families. Norcross has served in Congress since 2014 after replacing Rob Andrews as representative for New Jersey’s 1st district. Before his tenure in Congress, he was a member of both the New Jersey General Assembly and Senate between 2010 and 2014. Born in Camden in 1958, Norcross continues to reside there while representing his district.
