Donald Norcross addresses Lindenwold incident and highlights Black history ties to South Jersey

U.S. Congressman Donald Norcross, who represents New Jersey’s 1st district, addressed recent events and local history in a series of posts on February 18, 2026.

In response to an incident involving federal agents in Lindenwold, Norcross stated: “What happened in Lindenwold on Friday is deeply disturbing and goes against our South Jersey values. Our children are not criminals, and when students have to run away in fear from federal agents, something is wrong. ICE needs to come forward and be transparent about what” (posted February 18, 2026). The congressman called for transparency from Immigration and Customs Enforcement regarding the situation.

Later that day, Norcross highlighted the importance of Black History Month with a focus on local contributions: “Black history is American history. And so much of it runs through South Jersey. Throughout #BlackHistoryMonth, I’ll be highlighting the people and places in our district that helped move our country forward. “ (posted February 18, 2026).

He followed up by spotlighting Croft Farms in Cherry Hill: “Located in Cherry Hill, Croft Farms carries a powerful legacy of courage and community. Once a station on the Underground Railroad, it was owned by abolitionists who helped enslaved people seek freedom. Today, the farm continues that legacy as a vibrant community center, bringing” (posted February 18, 2026).

Donald Norcross has represented New Jersey’s 1st congressional district since replacing Rob Andrews in 2014. Before his tenure in Congress, he served both in the New Jersey General Assembly and Senate between 2010 and 2014. Born in Camden in 1958, Norcross continues to reside there while serving his constituents.
