Congressman Donald Norcross, who represents New Jersey’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of messages on social media addressing local community events and religious observances.

On February 17, 2026, Norcross invited constituents to participate in an educational session regarding civil liberties and immigration enforcement. He wrote, “Join me tomorrow evening at 4:30pm for a Legal Observer Information Session to learn how to document ICE agent conduct and help protect First Amendment rights. The following day, February 18, 2026, Norcross acknowledged Ramadan with a message directed toward South Jersey residents observing the holiday. He stated, “Ramadan Mubarak to all those observing in South Jersey. May this month be filled with reflection, prayer, compassion, and peace for you and your loved ones. https://t.co/vkMTtUCqTT”.

Later that same day, he also marked Ash Wednesday and the start of Lent with another post: “Today, families across South Jersey are observing Ash Wednesday and beginning the season of Lent. Wishing all who observe a meaningful season of reflection, service, and renewal. https://t.co/fDCzzGXReH”.

Norcross has served as the representative for New Jersey’s 1st congressional district since replacing Rob Andrews in 2014. Before his tenure in Congress, he served in both the New Jersey General Assembly and Senate between 2010 and 2014. Born in Camden in 1958, Norcross continues to reside there while representing his district.
